68年秋にヴェルヴェット・アンダーグラウンドを脱退したケイルは、プロデューサー兼アレンジャーとしてザ・ストゥージズやニコのアルバムに参加した後、70年にソロデビュー。テリー・ライリーとのコラボレーション・アルバムやリプリーズから2枚のアルバムをレコーディングしました。74年にはロンドンに拠点を移し、アイランドと契約。わずか1年余りの間に独創的な名盤3枚をリリースします。74年9月リリースの『Fear』はブライアン・イーノとフィル・マンザネラ、リチャード・トンプソンが参加。75年4月リリースの『Slow Dazzle』はイーノとマンザネラ、そしてギタリストのクリス・スペディングが参加。「Heartbreak Hotel」の素晴らしいカヴァーと前衛的なスポークン・ワード作品「The Jeweller」を収録。アイランド最後となった『Helen of Troy』は1975年11月にリリースされ、スペディングとイーノをフィーチャーし、フィル・コリンズも参加。そのアルバム3枚全てと、レアなシングルやセッションのアウトテイクから選ばれた7曲のボーナス・トラックが収録。最新リマスター。
