ケヴィン・エヤーズの2nd「シューティング・アット・ザ・ムーン／月に撃つ」。
ソフト・マシーン出身ということもあって「プログレの人」というイメージが強いケヴィンですが、他に類を見ない孤高の境地を切り開いた英国を代表するシンガー・ソングライター。
本作はデヴィッド・ベッドフォード、ロル・コックスヒル、ミック・フィンチャー、そしてまだ10代のマイク・オールドフィールドという鉄壁のメンバーで「ザ・ホール・ワールド」というバンドを率いての作品。
軽く力を抜いたヴォーカルと軽妙な演奏が素晴らしい名曲"May I?"で幕を開け、天性のボヘミアン的無国籍感覚を漂わせながら、時にフォーキーに時にへヴィに、はたまたネジが外れたようにフリーキーに変幻自在に展開していくめくるめく世界。
名作揃いのケヴィンの作品群の中でも最高峰にそびえるアルバムではないでしょうか。
ブリジット・セント・ジョンのかわいらしいヴォーカルが聴ける。
レアな英国オリジナル盤。
