キュレーター、プロデューサー、エディターとして活躍、その死後も大きな影響力を誇る阿木譲氏が運営した関西アンダーグラウンドの牙城にして、日本のミニマル・シンセ、ニューウェイヴ、プロト・テクノ、エレクトロニカの先駆者とも言える大阪拠点の大名門レーベル、[Vanity Records]。もともと、同地よりアルバムとして発表される予定だったもののお蔵入りとなってしまっていた幻のカタログが、遂にオフィシャルでCD化。

ヴァニティから作品を発表した5アーティスト:TOLERANCE、DENSEI KWAN、SALARIED MAN CLUB、ONNYK:Anode/Cathode、SYSTEMの未発表音源と初CD化音源を収めた6枚組CDボックス。阿木譲の所蔵カセットテープから発見された作品や今回新たにアーティ
スト側から提供された楽曲、ロックマガジン誌付録ソノシート曲など貴重な記録作品集。

「Music」と「Tapes」に収録された3アーティスト(SALARIED MAN CLUB、ONNYK:Anode/Cathode、DENSEI KWAN)から新
たに提供された当時のデモ音源を編集したコンピレーション。
CD-3 SYSTEM-Love Song(初CD化)
大阪で短期間活動した女性5人組。ロックマガジン誌1981年36号付録ソノシート(Vanity8102)。オリジナルマスターテープを宇都
宮泰がリマスタリング。
CD-4 TOLERANCE-Dose(未発表)
阿木譲の所蔵品から発見されたカセットテープをデジタルリマスタリング。「Dose」とのみ記されており各曲名は不明。「Anonym」(79 年)
と「Divin」(81 年)の中間に位置付けられる音楽性を持ち、1 枚のアルバムとしてほぼ完成している。
CD-5 TOLERANCE-Demos(未発表)
CD-4 と同様、発掘カセットテープからの音源。荒涼としつつ何処か安らぎのある風景が走馬灯のように浮かんでは消える音のエスキース。
CD-6 TOLERANCE-Todayʼ s Thrill(初CD化)
ロックマガジン誌1980年 32号付録ソノシート(Vanity2005)となったアルバム未収録曲。ソノシートから宇都宮泰がリマスタリング。

Theoretically, the release date is April 17, but in the current situation, delivery services are not functioning as efficiently as they used to, so that's more a hope than a precise date. But the CDs are on their way and will be shipped out to arrive by then or as soon as possible.
Whit Dickey has been a quiet but brilliant presence on the New York avant-jazz scene since his discographical debut in 1991 on the legendary Matthew Shipp Trio album Circular Temple. In concert and on recordings in groups led by Shipp, David S. Ware, Ivo Perelman, Joe Morris, and Rob Brown, he built a reputation for distinctively space-filled, subtle rhythmic support, even as he was perfectly capable of muscling up when the music called for it. For some of the people he plays with, three decades yield dozens of releases as a leader, but the present release — his first on ESP-Disk’— is just Dickey’s 13th at the helm after one in the ’90s, seven in the ’00s (including groups The Nommonsemble and Trio Ahxoloxha), and four in the recently concluded decade. The musician Dickey has most frequently teamed with is Shipp, and here they are again in a pair of contexts, the first disc a duo, the second a trio with the addition of Nate Wooley.
ESP-Disk’ quickly understood why Dickey has released relatively few albums as a leader: he is incredibly demanding of himself. There were multiple sessions by each configuration heard here, not to mention a quartet as well; Dickey kept going back into the studio, pushing himself to greater heights until he was finally satisfied. We got so confused about it that the recording date of the first disc is incorrectly listed in the physical album’s packaging; the correct date is listed below.

「マルドロールの歌」は、すでにフランス文学の古典として位置づけられていますが、ナディーヌ・リボーの読み方はそれとは違います。作品そのものより実際の生き方を重んじた、かつてのシュルレアリストと同様、あるいは、ロートレアモンことイジドール・デュカスを再発見してその価値を人類で初めて看破し称揚したアンドレ・ブルトンと同様、彼女は「マルドロールの歌」を、人類への愛憎と悲哀、その裏返しとしての造物主への激しい叛逆と呪詛を読み取り、魂で感じ、今世紀の末期的な物質文明と、殺伐たる現代世界に対峙し得るものとして、その精神を感受しています。

2013年から2016年にかけて、私が『マルドロールの歌』に立ち戻ったのは、まったくの偶然ではありません。2011年、突如発生した福島の原子力災害によってもたらされた、打ちひしがれた感情は、ずっと私の思考を占め続けていました。私は破壊、惨劇、恐怖、権力を持つ支配者の連中が及ぼす影響を目の当たりにしました。彼らは、住民の保護を命令しながら、考え得る最大限の死の危険に住民をさらしたのです。この事態は、災害そのものと同様、私のなかで解決されないままですが、起こってしまった以上、同じ考え方を続けることはできません。爪で私の脳に切り傷をつけるような権力者たちの触手に胡散臭さを感じざるを得ませんでした。その触手から人々に宗教的ともいえる古い考え方が再び生じるのです。すなわち、失って苦しんだあとに、人間はより良き素晴らしい復興を成し遂げることができるという考え方です。それはある一定の連中が、ちっぽけな存在をより巧妙に絡めとるために事態を偽装する、つまり、しなやかに適応して生き延びる復元力（レジリエンス）を押しつけているということです。私のなかで、この出来事から起こった拒否のうねり、それに続いて起こった衝撃、そして危険な思想形態への揺り戻しは消えてはいませんでした。そして私は、その出来事から日が経つにつれ、拒否のうねりが大きくなり、少女時代に、途方もない極端な暴力によって人間の人間による殲滅行為が行われた二つの世界大戦の恐怖、そして広島における究極の廃墟を知った時と同じ状態にある自分を発見したとさえ言えるでしょう。当時、私は本の中でしか自分にとっての解決を見出せませんでした。そのなかの特別な一冊が『マルドロールの歌』だったのです。
　私はこの雨と降る流星のように美しい叛逆のポエジーにずっと魅了されてきました。そこでロートレアモンは、イマージュの無限に向かい、この世界をあるがままに受け入れることの不可能性を冷静に昇華してみせたのです。私は『マルドロール』を読み返しました。それからインクを手に取り、デッサンの連作に取りかかりました。顔料に余分な水を含ませた刷毛で、外枠、扉を素描し、拭きこすり、『マルドロール』の破滅的なイメージ、特殊な雰囲気、鮮やかな一節に結びついたヴィジョンが私のなかに立ち現われ、その様相を描き上げたのです。このデッサンの編集に尽力いただいたロール・ミシィに深甚の感謝を表するとともに、私は、この本質的な作品を恐怖の忘却の底に落とし込むことを拒否する人々、私たちの常軌を逸した殺人的な文明がそこで読むことのできるこの作品をあくまで読み続け、なおも人類の行く末を気にかけ、たとえ絶望し、もがき苦しみ、格闘したとしても、〈生〉の普遍的な意味が打ち棄てられていることに対して、敗北主義者であることを拒否する人々に、この書を捧げます。

JINYAの斉藤さんから音源発掘の一報を聞き鳥肌がたった。そして内容を聴いて背筋がゾクゾクとした。高柳昌行と阿部薫が交差したほんの僅かな期間(5ヶ月間)の貴重な資料。この2人のそれぞれ個別の発掘音源はたまに出ることは出る。しかし、共演でしかも絶好調の阿部薫が確認できるとなると話は別だ。本作はフリージャズおよび日本人ジャズ・ファンにとって、10年に1度あるかないかの大発掘音源となるだろう。

Utilizing crystalline-quality safety masters kept in the Zappa family vault for decades by the trustworthy Joe Travers, the audio here is positively glorious. Every last skronk breathes full life into the room. Every twisted guitar figure uncurls onto paths previously unpaved.
