My Favorites ： The Stooges
If there’s ever been an album that lives up to its title, this is it—Iggy and the Stooges’ apocalyptic, high-octane bombshell, Raw Power! At times this searing, end-of-the-world death platter—home to such proto-punk frontal assaults as “Search and Destroy,” “Shake Appeal,” and “Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell”—even threatens to surpass its beyond-appropriate moniker. Although this incarnation of the Stooges imploded not long after its release, Raw Power became the LP that launched a million punk rock bands all around the world, leaving its flaming skidmarks on scenes from London to L.A. to Sydney. My Favorites ： Frank Zappa - We're Only in It for the Money(U.K)

From the beginning, Frank Zappa cultivated a role as voice of the freaks — imaginative outsiders who didn't fit comfortably into any group. We're Only in It for the Money is the ultimate expression of that sensibility, a satirical masterpiece that simultaneously skewered the hippies and the straights as prisoners of the same narrow-minded, superficial phoniness. Zappa's barbs were vicious and perceptive, and not just humorously so: his seemingly paranoid vision of authoritarian violence against the counterculture was borne out two years later by the Kent State killings. Like Freak Out, We're Only in It for the Money essentially devotes its first half to satire, and its second half to presenting alternatives. Despite some specific references, the first-half suite is still wickedly funny, since its targets remain immediately recognizable. The second half shows where his sympathies lie, with character sketches of Zappa's real-life freak acquaintances, a carefree utopia in "Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance," and the strident, unironic protest "Mother People." Regardless of how dark the subject matter, there's a pervasively surreal, whimsical flavor to the music, sort of like Sgt. Pepper as a creepy nightmare. Some of the instruments and most of the vocals have been manipulated to produce odd textures and cartoonish voices; most songs are abbreviated, segue into others through edited snippets of music and dialogue, or are broken into fragments by more snippets, consistently interrupting the album's continuity. Compositionally, though, the music reveals itself as exceptionally strong, and Zappa's politics and satirical instinct have rarely been so focused and relevant, making We're Only in It for the Money quite probably his greatest achievement.

これこそ冥界から人類救済のためにもたらされた福音の音楽である！ヨシ・ワダ探索の最後を飾る最終兵器「アース・ホルン」。アルプスホルン風（というにはジャンクな印象だが）の３～10mの特殊な自作管楽器４本と電子音ドローンによる、展開もほとんどなく一定の長さの持続音をそれぞれの奏者が奏でるこの驚愕の内容は、まさにラモンテ・ヤングの70年代初頭までの演奏風景の延長にあるものだ。例えばラモンテの63年の作品「高圧線トランスの第２の夢」の84年の改作のCD（Grammavision R2-79467）を聴いてみればあまりに自明。しかもCDではダイジェストになっているが、実際は全体で３時間近くもかかるのだ！本作は1972年の作であるから、まさしくラモンテの共同体にいた時期であり、その影響をマトモに受けたことがうかがえる。
アルプスホルンという楽器での演奏というのも絶妙だ。その姿はすでに作品の本質を示している。まだ後年の「ラメント・フォー・ザ・ライズ・アンド・フォール・・・」のディープ・ヴォイスのような空間への眼差しは見られないが、バグパイプに移る前段階であることは間違いない。むしろ楽器として完成されたバグパイプに対して、本作の挑発的とさえ言える珍奇な楽器群とその演奏風景にはシアター的要素も感じられ、このあたりもラモンテの影があるのかもしれない。このあまりにも極北なリリースは、中途半端なつきあい方はできないであろう。その素晴らしさに涙し抱いて寝るしかない！35年の時を経て抱かれる日がやってきたヨシ・ワダは、本当に幸せ者である。
さて、最終兵器という言葉は、ただ最後のリリースという意味なのか・・・？EM RecordsとOMEGA POINTの連立政権がコトを穏便に済ますはずはなく、演奏すべてを収録したLP3枚組も併せて制作する。全部聴くことの価値はいうまでもなく、当時の記録写真はその大判ブックレットでこそ鑑賞に値する。マチューナスのポスターも原寸大サイズ！さらにOMEGA POINT仕様のスペシャル版では3LPにデジタル・マスタリングの完全版3CDR付き、豪華箱入りで限定50（ギャーー！）
- A world premiere from Yoshi Wada and EM Records/Omega Point: the first-ever release of "Earth Horns with Electronic Drone", recorded live in 1974. Combining four of Wada's self-made "pipehorns" (made from plumbing materials, over three meters in length), with an electronic drone tuned to the electrical current of the performance space, this is a lost masterpiece of early minimalism, placing Wada rightfully in the pantheon with La Monte Young, Phill Niblock, Maryanne Amacher and Alvin Lucier.
Recorded live in Syracuse, New York, this recording captures the room-filling complex overtones generated by the ever-shifting interplay of the breathing horns and the constant electronic drone. This is a music of ritual hypnotic power, its heavy low end mass and sense of change within constancy engendering a meditative transcendency.
